Youth Conference
Eric and I had the wonderful opportunity to go to Youth Conference with our stake, and it was incredible. We went to Kirtland, where we saw the Whitney store with the school of the prophets above, and then drove on to Geneva that night. The next day we visited the Hill Cumorah, where we watched the new movie about Joseph Smith which was amazing. The Spirit was so thick in there you could cut it with a knife. We saw the Grandin Press, where the Book of Mormon was first published. We visited the Smith farm, and then that evening we walked out to the Sacred Grove and had the most amazing testimony meeting. On Saturday we drove back to Kirtland and saw the temple there, where we sang a verse of "The Spirit of God" which was also a very spiritual experience. We stopped at the Johnson Farm where Joseph Smith was tarred and feathered before coming home. It was incredible to feel the spirit testifying over and over, with one experience on top of another. It was a great experience for the kids, too.

I can totally relate to what you are talking about! I did this trip twice, once when I was about 12 and then after I graduated from high school, I think I appreciated it much more on the older trip. Amazing, I am so glad you got to go! I am going to youth conference this week and I am totally stressing about who will watch the kids, its pretty much all taken care of but I just hate asking people, I feel like everyone is too busy with their own lives so its really hard for me. STRESS!
Awesome. I love church history, and it is such a testimony building experience. We are so lucky to live so close to stuff like that. Glad you had fun.
What a great experience! Scott and I were so sad that we moved just before Trek in Idaho. We were going to be a Ma and Pa. I'm glad Makenah got to have this experience though. It is a great opportunity that we live close enough to have YC there.
Awesome! I hope to get there some day.
Sounds amazing!!! I am so glad to have found your blog! Love you!
so fun. This is Kendra (Nieman...err, Wirig for that matter). It was fun seeing you guys at Paul's reception. Reading your post on youth conference makes me miss Cleveland (we were in the Kirtland stake). There are not many things that make me miss Cleveland, but it was fun living so close to so many church history sites. Anyway....you need to post more often:) it will be fun to keep tabs on you guys!
