broken radius

at least it didn't happen on the first day of snowboarding. Erin blames it on her dad, for distracting her. i blame it on the al-al-al-al-ti-tude (bet you thought i was going to say something else, didn't you?)

so, she got to ride down the mountain in the ski patrol sled (apparently they saw me going over on the lift, but i missed the whole thing) and then went to Primary Children's in Salt Lake to get it reset. cast the following monday, (after we got home), then surgery a week later (the break had shifted within the cast). so, now she's drugged up, sleeping and watching Once Upon a Time on hulu and missing even more school and musical rehearsal.

as un-fun as it is to have a broken arm, i love that i have kids who like to get out there and try stuff and have fun. and she's been so amazing, never once complaining about having to sit around the condo while we were off skiing, or missing school, or rehearsal, or not being able to scratch her own nose, or the pain or cast. and she's not complaining about not having to do piano, ballet, or karate either.

ohhhhhhh... Erin!!!! I'm sooo sorry you darling, girl. But I can totally see you smiling through it all and finding the silver lining in every cloud. You are a force to be reckoned with and no broken bone or cast is going to stand in your way of ANYTHING!! Love you, sweetie. Happy Healing!

Hey, Lyd. Wow. What a vacation. I'm so sorry. I hope you guys still enjoyed yourselves despite the hospital trips and all. I miss you tons. Love you.

I keep seeing Erin's status updates about this on Facebook. She is such a trooper and I adore her sense of humor and wit. She does have the best attitude! While those months with Kayla's broken tibia and surgeries were not ideal, I sure enjoyed all the time we got to spend together and all the books and movies were fun too. Hang in there! Love you guys!
