What an awesome kid!
Here's one I didn't have time to blog about. Erin was nominated as Student of the Month (actually for 2 months, October and November) by her science teacher, Mr. Hartings. She hit 7th grade with a bit of a bumpy start, but really took off during the second quarter. I wasn't the least bit surprised, I knew that kid was smart!

Lydia needs....
I have the funniest friends! I got this idea from Tiff and Stef - here's what you do:
Go to your favorite search engine and type in your first name and then "needs" and see what you get!
Here's mine:
1. Lydia needs a ride
2. Lydia needs six mortal people to complete her journey
3. Lydia needs your prayers
4. LOVABLE Lydia needs a new home
5. Lydia needs the following information to complete the forms
6. Lydia needs an album cover
7. Lydia needs to pose so that she can see herself through her sister's eyes (what?)
And here's Eric's:
1. Eric needs a hug
2. Eric needs to update his xanga site
3. Eric needs a girlfriend (um, no I don't think so)
4. Eric needs to sell his stuff
5. Eric needs medication (tee hee)
6. Eric needs help!
7. KILTED Eric needs HR advice (sounds like he needs other advice, too)
Okay, and I couldn't resist when I found this farther down the list:
8. Eric needs help with childhood bladder and bowel problems
And this:
9. Eric needs to stop making out with guys
That was fun, guys! I wonder if it would be as funny with other verbs. (Like maybe "smells"?)

My kids WISH they had a "County Fair" mom!
Eric, he's a Disneyland Dad all the way. From the nightly game of "Attack Dad" to signing permission slips allowing our 12 year old to go on overnight choir trips that cost $500.
As for me, I'm not even fun enough to be a "County Fair" mom. I'm more like a "Sacrament Meeting" mom or a "Fabric Store" mom. Both not fun places for kids to go.

Husband Tag
I don't get the tag thing either. I don't think I was tagged. Can I still play? Can I tag myself? I'm going to say yes to the above, because I want to let you all know about my awesome husband, Eric.
1. Where did you meet? BYU. On a blind date. Set up by his brother and my roommate (who are now my brother and sister-in-law. Thanks John and Tina!)
2. How long did you date before getting married? 5 months.
3. How long have you been married? 14 years in March. Egads.
4. What is your favorite feature of his? It has to be his large stature, which makes me feel petite.
5. What is your favorite quality of his? Mentally, he has the strength of will and determination to keep going until the job is done. Which is what makes him so successful. Spiritually, I love that he never judges others. He always gives people the benefit of the doubt and encourages and loves unconditionally.
6. What is his nickname for you? Either "Lyd" or "Babe" which he probably picked up (jokingly at first) from being around Brandon so much.
7. What is his favorite color? I'm going to guess blue, since he has about 12 of the exact same shirt in various shades of blue. Which look great with his eyes.
8. What is his favorite food? Sushi. Or steak.
9. What is his favorite sport? Football. BYU football. Unless you start counting individual sports, and then we have many winners. Wakeboarding, snowboarding, guns (is that a sport? He never actually shoots anything but targets.) Oh yeah, and off-roading.
10. When was your first kiss? About 2 hours into our first date.
11. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? Go eat sushi and talk.
12. Do you have children? 4
13. Does your husband have a hidden talent? He used to color my hair for me when we were first married and poor. And he did a really good job!
14. How old is he? 36
15. Who said "I Love You" first? He wrote it on my hand in Chinese!
16. What is his favorite type of music? He really likes everything. Except Opera. He says it makes him feel like he's being beaten. And showtunes.
17. What do admire the most about him? I have to say, his work ethic. He never stops. No matter how unpleasant the job is. He recently finished pressure-washing and sealing the driveway before he would go to the ER for the 3rd degree burn on his hand. And he gets poison ivy EVERY TIME he goes and helps with and Eagle Scout project. But he goes and helps anyway. And once he cleaned up the mouse guts from under a friend's kitchen sink, since she was pregnant. When he worked at Ace Hardware as a teenager, he would go fix old ladys' plumbing for free.
18. Will he read this? I think he's been waiting with baited breath!
I tag Marie!

Moab Boy's Trip Slideshow
Here is a slideshow from the boys trip to Moab. They had a blast playing in the dirt and exploring Grand Junction and Moab. C and J got their first exposure to white-water rafting. The river was running high and water temperature was 42 degrees. J caught one wave full in the face and decided early spring rafting was not for him.
The boys also got to shoot pistols for the first time, and J got a bottle from 15 yards. Not bad for a 5 year old. The biggest hits of the trip were the hotel swimming pools and Taco Bell.

Single mom, with only 2 kids
Eric took the boys out to Grand Junction, Colorado and Moab, Utah for the weekend. He's getting together with some college friends for some jeeping fun, and his dad is meeting him there. I'm so excited to do girl things with E and A! It is very quiet around here tonight.
