I tend to be a bit of a Scrooge. I think it dates back to being morning sick and emotional and throwing the angel treetopper at Eric's head. It just hasn't been the same for me since then.
This one really wasn't too bad. I have learned to have very low expectations of myself during the holidays.
We didn't go anywhere, which helps. I really hate dealing with all of the Christmas stuff AND planning a trip. And how the heck do you EVER get all of
those presents back home?
So here's what we did:
Christmas in Killarney - Irish dance performance. Very fun!
Carnival of Carols - a big deal fundraiser for Erin's middle school show choir. They did a really good job!
Annie's 5th grade orchestra concert. I actually could see the very tippy top of her head.
For Christmas Eve, we went to my sister's house in Columbus and had a great time! Homemade pizza (my favorite) and acting out the nativity (with Lillian as the sweetest baby Jesus ever!), and then exchanging gifts.
Oh, and we forgot to take any pictures on Christmas day. But I left the decorations up for a few more days. Usually I start taking them down as soon as all of the wrapping paper is picked up.
I have goals to be a little better prepared next year, but that just means I have to think about Christmas all year, UGH! We'll see, I guess!

I love it Lydia... you are just so realistic! It makes me happy. Christmas is quite the ordeal, I have to agree
Christmas being over also means we're that much closer to seeing you guys under some warm, tropical sun!! WOO-HOO!!!
Glad to hear you made it through once again. I'm calling this week. It's been too long. Love you!
I'm always glad to celebrate and glad when it's over. By the time the kids head back to school I am ready for it.

you are so funny! Sounds like Christmas was great! I always say I am going to be more prepared too, next year I totally am going to be! haha!
I agree. Probably not with as much hatred as you but definitely about the hassle. I usually can't get the decorations down fast enough, but this year, with a baby that needs to be held all the time, they're still up. I get angry now every time I look at the tree.
Look at all that gorgeous red hair! Your kids are adorable!
You're so funny! I loved this post, and especially the title. It makes me miss you even more. And I love the irish dance picture!!!
